Ocean-Tide

Crashing down, like an ocean wave

My heart as it breaks

     again and again,

          it's ocean tide

As I hear you calling out 

     my name in countless ways

Swimming against the tide

     I struggle to catch you in time

Sorrow so deep,

     physical pain seers through all of me

As time after time,

     wave after wave,

          I'm just a little too late

A constant struggle between life and death

This poem is beautiful in its rendition and feels like a troubled dream. The line, "it's ocean tide" is so suggestive of chaos and loss, of the ocean destroying everything in its wake. I can feel the grief and sadness and the feeling of being overwhelmed by your words.

Another one that has the reader tethered to your words, hoping for a better outcome I like how you drive this message home, I can feel the desperation. Nicely done.
