It’s in turmoil

Sickness
Plagues
Pestilence
Sorrow
Deaths

What more

Before

You bend
Your
Knees
To pray

What
More

Do you need
To make
You see
The way

To make
You change
Your ways

It’s doomsday

Nothings going
To change

Whether you
Stay or go
The pandemic
Is going
To grow

Out of control

But one thing
That I know

God

Is in control

The trumpet
The angels
Did blow
Without
It being
Known

But

The seeds
They
Have been

Sown

The world
Is suffering
The pestilence
Is overcoming

But within
The words
It stands

Do not fear

The end is near

Believe each
What you will

But prayer
Requires
No bill

It’s free
For you
And me

Get down
On
Your knees
And you
Will see

With eyes
That see
In faith
It’s the journey
Upon
One must
Wait

But say
Just one
Prayer
To show
The world
You
Care

Together
Prayers
Are heard

What comes
Next
We might
Not know

But together
The spirit
Is set free

Yet joined
In
Unity.

This is a boatload of sincerity about the power of prayer . . . not like the gung-ho praying advocates . . . I mean, SHOWING a situation that screams out for prayer & then SHOWING the way faith is required & results are not guaranteed, but if anything will move the needle, it's gotta be prayer becuz humans are so damn foolish & fomenting, they'll all whining about politics & blame & shortages, but hardly anyone mentions that PEOPLE ARE DYING! If humans can be so short-sighted on a widespread basis, then prayer is our only hope becuz I've sure lost faith in mankind! Your poem is adequately doom & gloom, but not in a "the sky is falling" kind of way . . . it's reasonable & intelligent, the case you're making . . . not an emotional reaction like many are having in words.
