In Chiaroscuro

In Chiaroscuro

A Poem by Ken Simm.
"

Bringing light from dark. A pillow poem for her.

"

Line, shape, tone, and composition

Move my hand as my eye retains position

let me look, unfailing see, the one pure sight

you'll always be.

Mark, stroke, wash and image

erase my hopes, my thoughts diminish

creating now, a portrait of, with singing colour

creating love

oil, water, pen and charcoal

As light from dark, in chiaroscuro

wishing on this canvas lay, whatever hope,

may come your way.

I can see why you read my chiaroscuro piece now. Yours is better...as an 'artist' wannabe there is something so profound in bringing light and color to plain paper, or canvas. It can be done by words, but it is more difficult. You have both defined the process - and illuminated the screen with your words. Well done. And thank you for visiting my page.

This is lovely to read out loud. So graceful. The imagery sustained throughout the poem. Fine work.

Your pen has become your brush and your page your canvas - a stunning write about love and capturing the essence of such esoteric things. Lovely - quite divine. The descriptions are right on time. A great poem. Thank you.

This is a beautifully penned piece of literary art. I read it a few times and with each read, the painting became even more beautiful; you are an amazing word-smith. If only, we could turn darkness to light with the mere stroke of a brush or pen - just imagine how beautiful the world would be today...

~lovely~

Very intimate feel to this. Almost as if you are breathing life and love into the act of creating the picture. It's simple and I can easily understand it. It feels gentle and calm also.

Hope is the foundation upon which we lay the road to our dreams....
this is stunning. Simple, warm, reserved and yet open.
