You

You

A Poem by KenCarswell
"

just a little something ive been tinkering with.

"
You

You always have to be the center of attention,
Striving for all eyes on you,
If only you knew, that
That is what drives my retention,
Putting my love through a recession

One set of eyes are never enough
You need to be the talk of the town,
Many times I've called your bluff
To immediately have a smile turned into a frown

You say one thing, yet do another,
All the lies and ways you would cry
Prove you have no respect and no honour,
Yet to this day, I still can't deny
That I never want to say Goodbye,
And this is exactly why;

You're not perfect, you make mistakes,
You are who you are and I can't change that
No matter how much my heart breaks,
Because without you all I have is constant heartaches

I Love You

- The end of the third stanza is different than the original posting, Im still playing with it to get the right flow and emotion that I am looking for.
