How I Feel

How I Feel

A Story by Kenneth Murray
"

Can anybody relate?

"

At night, I look up at the sky sometimes, hoping that someone, somewhere is doing the same as I, feeling the same loneliness as I do, That feeling of emptiness, that feeling of being wanted. On those moonless nights, I look up and feel the same as the sky does. Filled with darkness, emptiness, yearning for something to light the way or brighten my life. On those nights when the sky is full of stars, I make myself believe that each of those stars is another person looking up at the sky, wanting to feel loved, to feel wanted, to feel accepted, and to not be so lonely. Then I watch as the clouds cover them, a symbol of hopelessness, or a moment of conclusion, when the person decides and realizes they are lonely and accepts it. Then once more they appear, as if they look to the sky, a moment's reprieve, in hope that somebody else is feeling the same. I love it on the nights that it rains, because I sometimes run outside because the rain hides the tears of loneliness well. I sometimes make myself believe that each raindrop is the tears of the unaccepted, the broken, the lonely, and the unwanted. If anybody can relate, just know, that you are not alone in this struggle. Every human yearns for human interaction. It's up to us to provide that. If you are lonely, i'll be lonely with you.

You're not alone, Kenneth... I'll say, 19 years old is when I was married to the lovely man I proudly call my husband today. Of course these feelings are natural and very rational, but you never know when life will surprise you and sweep you off your dusted feet. ;)

This story basically describes my entire teenage years.

Hang in there.. Love will find you, always.
