Unto The Dust

Unto The Dust

A Poem by kenny

Born with almost all we'll ever need,
Humanity still searches with lustful greed.
Nothing short of being on top,
will make the grotesque masses stop.
Taken for granted are hope and love,
and no longer do we look for aid above.
Those who have gold have a reason to withdraw,
but those withdrawing love often share the largest flaw.

No one can receive without someone giving,
Even something so common as living.
Deep down we know our fate,
To die and rot in a simple crate.
Too often man kind pushes aside this knowledge,
in favor of a calmer homage,
one where sin is glorified,
as a way to feel more alive.
And no one thinks of later consequence,
and simply sees themselves as on the fence.
But in truth this is not the way.
It is an ungrateful thing to waste a day.
Forever we are in debt,
...and yet,
we hold on to our way of life,
so guilt free and bereft of strife.
When we see the cold rust amongst the lofty mist,
maybe then we'll get the gist.
if you don't give you can't receive,
That is what I believe.
