Raven of True Virtue

Raven of True Virtue

A Poem by Twilight

Tell me it's true,

my raven of virtue,

as sure as your feathers are dark,

it's true that I have missed you.

From your lofty perch,

you gaze upon my world,

bemused by all that happens,

whilst the tragedy unfolds.

Where will it end?

I imagine that you wonder,

as each passing day,

another business "goes under".

How long must I wait,

to see some strength return,

to my poor cynical mind,

or should I live in hope no more?

Complacency in politics,

no more "big ideas",

and with each passing moment,

catastrophe seems near.....

Great poem, but for some reason I don't feel as though it's concluded.
You ended it a bit abruptly, but perhaps that was your goal.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed this.
I love the symbol of the raven, it reminds me of Poe and although you used it in this poem you made it entirely your own.
I find that quite admirable, keep up the good work.

Thank you very much for sharing this.

Brilliant, Julian. A very interesting approach to watching the hardships that are faced. It's more like you are sitting on a wire or a line just having a bird's eye view of it all. Very wonderfully written, like always.

An excellently composed piece that conveys the troubles of our times. A skillful and unique approach. I love how you expressed this. Wonderful!!!

I like how you used the Raven as a symbol of virtue. It is a different comparison than I would have used, and this poem speaks very nicely about current events.
