Garden of Paradise

Garden of Paradise

A Poem by Twilight
"

Written with a specific Contest in mind, this poem seeks to portray a tranquil garden or paradise. This is just one of my ideas of Heaven. It is a calm and relaxing place, where visitors can wander with freedom and admire nature's beauty.

"

In the garden of paradise,

all is nice,

life is free,

from trouble and strife,

As the humming-bird sings,

it flaps those wings,

caught in the air,

such beauty is rare,

The sparkling waters of a river floweth,

yet where it goes,

nobody knoweth,

At the heart of this garden,

is Shangri-lai,

restless souls,

walk here to die,

Beauteous flowers,

and April showers,

mystify the mind for hours,

At the end of which,

you seek to trust,

your heart to love,

and the passion of lust,

With gorgeous angels,

for which you long,

enchant your mind,

with joyous songs...

This really paints a picture of a truly beautiful garden, and in it I see beauty in endings, not only death but in endings.

"At the heart of this garden,
is Shangri-lai,
restless souls,
walk here to die,"

Death here means eternal beauty and bliss, and I feel like that can relate to almost any endings in one way or another. I love this, a lot.

Great job :)
