Sailing To You

Sailing To You

A Poem by Kevin Holloway

Can't we dance one more time?

One more ring around the floor

Can't we take one more minute

Before you leave this shore?

There isn't a rush

The night is still very young

So let's go for one more round

And allow it to mature.

Can't we just bend the time?

Turn back the ticking clock

Can't we ignite the sky

Before it all has to stop?

There has to be a way

To cease this your leaving

Maybe if we simply ignore

We can overlook it, breathe freely

Please don't go

I'll find the way

Please don't leave

I'll make it okay

Please...

This hall no longer calls for dance

It echoes with lone emptiness

These memories never quiet

No moment will I know rest

This place has gone to the winter cold

And nothing can blossom here

These memories exist only to haunt

Each echo returns to sear

At the shore, the sea beckons

Now I know what I must do

Sails must open and carry

Me with the wind to you

I'm coming, dear

I'll find the way

I'm sailing to you

To make things okay
