a soilder and his wife

a soilder and his wife

A Poem by Katie dominguez

i can't say i've been where you are, but i've been to a similar place

so full of love, yet heartbroken because your missing a lover's face

what sorrow it is to yearn for a love so sweet

living in agnoy; counting the days untill again your lips will meet

praying to god "please, grant me this one wish.....

bring him home again, how i desperatly need his kiss."

finding things to fill your days and waste away the time

all the while thinking, a smile without him is a crime

but you get through because you know that you can't live without him---he is your life

amazing and beautiful is the love i see, between this soilder and his wife

About
I write to process, it always comes out in poetry. Sometimes I find myself thinking the most poetic thoughts, but maybe I just put on a good show. I don't know if poets were meant to be lovers.... We.. more..
