Fool

Fool

A Poem by M.Kilani

Why even bother, already I know the end

Left alone until the dawn, strength I’ll pretend

This is how it will be

Homeless more than free

In the corner in the shades

Counting hours till sun fades

Nicotine stains and tears

And more wasted years

Dismay runs in vein

And heart beats in vain

Escaping what is real

For taking down the veil

Despair in return

And I will never learn

That every rose has a thorn

To be cut then die alone

Another leap to the grave

Three parts fool, one part brave

Every beauty has two sides of it I think as does the rose. The beauty here is recognizing this...all parts brave.

cutting words of bleakness and despair, indeed tragic tale of the fool

i loved the last stanza... amazing! the rest is good! you wrote better before... but the emotion in this poem is quite powerful! man something's happened... we need to catch up!

keep 'em coming!

"Homeless more than free" I really like this line, because at first glance it would appear that being homeless is being free, but it's not really. Not at all.

"That every rose has a throne" - is that meant to be thorn?

I also think your parting stanza is beautifully written, "three parts fool, one part brave." That's a really nice way to end the poem. :]

Homeless until body meets earth and soul meets God, my friend...you need not pretend strength...it lies underneath the blindfold :) Lovely...

I enjoyed the complete poem. Ending line is my favorite. We can walk on road that can be twisted. Sometime we must sit down and figure if we are on the right road or going to the right place. A excellent poem.

Great job capturing the cycle of despair that can capture us sometimes. It is all vanity and striving after the wind, or so it seems at times, a futility that you highlight well. Nicely done...

the 3th and 4th lines are a holy creation. Honestly, you've a very admirable imagination and talent and your poems are very awe-inspiring. I love this one. The sadness and pain here are very heartfelt. beautifully written :)

I adore the last hitting imagery of this :) Always a lesson in life to learn, but do we?! Seems a lot do not!
Great work love
