Static

Static

A Poem by M.Kilani

Black spot white spot

Mixed signals

Signs of something

Or someone

All colors they broadcast

I don’t need

Their live feed

That white noise

Silence after a funeral song

That repeated insanity

Music to my ears

The unknown we fear

Binary flashing light

Days and night

If colored you might see

Organized fragments

Yet chaos

Struggling to be free

Any color you like

Any color but blood

Any color but money

Any color but lust

But death

But filth

Any color but pollution

But the lie of evolution

Any sound but a mourn

Any sound but a w***e

Any sound but war

And useless details

Of lies and fairytales

Of violated constitution

And silenced revolution

Call me crazy and see if I care

But admit that you’re scared

To see the truth behind what’s true

Ashamed of all that you knew

Worshiping glass and plastic

Trapped before 40 inches frame

Then point fingers of blame

Colorless you are, voiceless

And static

Great poem! I think this poem has something to do about war but I'm not completely sure since I guess it could be interpreted in many different ways. When I first read it I thought it was about how sometimes we are unsure of what's truth among conflicting points of views. This confusion could be described as static since its not focused.

Wow... Who is to blame? The crap on the television or the people who listen, who pick up arms and open fire on the innocent? Another amazing set of stanzas.

Love the analogies, and the line, "...to see the truth behind what's true." A wonderful write.

A well-done sweeping indictment of the new "opiate of the masses," mass media. We allow our views, our very souls, to be molded by this commercialized, marketed force...and it's just...static.

Excellent.

There were somethings in this poem which really caught my eye, like the ending lines... "Any color but lust"..... "Any sound but a w***e".....
The poem was all in all worth reading but there are some unwanted elements which hinder the flow of it...
Any sound but a mourn
Any sound but a w***e
In the above two lines the article "a" if omitted would sure help the cause...
"I don’t need
Their live feed"..... Sorry but this line sounds childish in such a mature write.... If possible just replace it with a better one....
Call me crazy and see if I care.... this line.... It was just unnecessary..... In poetry, try to ignore words like crazy, dumb s**t, crap and all, unless of course you use them as a simile or a metaphor.......
Rest assured the poem was quite fine for the taking......
P.S. Hope you are not offended.... Generally i ignore the flaws of anyone's write but when i look for em, i go all guns blazing....... I like you as a writer and that's why i just couldn't ignore.......
Poetry is not forced; it is a force...

A poem to create thoughts. You went in many directions with this poem. I like poetry like this one. In a poetry class. Can take apart and try to find the purpose of the writer.
"Binary flashing light
Days and night
If colored you might see
Organized fragments
Yet chaos
Struggling to be free"
A strong ending to a outstanding poem.
