These Words, Left Unspoken

These Words, Left Unspoken

A Poem by Alex Vidmar

How can I can describe how I feel about you?
How can I, when, when we talk,
My brain goes numb and my words are gibberish.
And my words, they are left unspoken...

When we message, I attempt to flirt,
But I was absent the day
They taught that in school.
And my words, are left unspoken...

I wish I could tell you how I truly feel,
But, again,
These words are left...
Unspoken.

I have written something like this when I was younger but have since lost the book they were in so it was nice to read this and be remembered of my own work. I think we all feel like this as young adults. feeling so many strong emotions and unale to draw up the courage to do anything about them. so we write to help dull the ache.

I think everyone knows this feeling. Anyone human anyway. There's no right or wrong way, and there was no class it school. Which can even kinda suck. Just be you and be honest, if it's meant to be, they'll see you for you, like you and want you too. Best of luck with your romance.

I really liked this. However the word "when" is repeated twice and I didn't quite understand that. Intentional? Not too sure. But other than that this was a very lovely and poignant piece! Good work!

it always happens that you clam up in the presence of someone you are in love with, it seems you never could say the right thing, or you just can't express how you really feel. excellent poem.

Very heartfelt. Speak the words and risk..or you will never know. Innocent flirting and even awkward silliness leads to more and more words and laughter..xo :) x

that's very sweet and relatable, really cute i like when you said

"When we message, I attempt to flirt,
But I was absent the day
They taught that in school."

that's very funny they should start teaching that in school ;)

Ah, how sweet these words are, for I believe we have all been there. It's a world that flutters so softly inside while bumping against the strings like the wings are playing us as if we were an instrument. Our notes aren't solidified in ways we wish while they play a tune that we cannot let out. Well done.

Aww, this is cute.
I tend to be speechless around one certain person(my ex) but he isn't over one of my friends. It makes it difficult to tell him how I truly feel, that's why at school I let him read certain poems that I made just for him. Thank God for writing :)
Great job!

It is funny, isn't it? The one person we wish we could open up our heart to, find words just pouring forth, is the one we are always speechless around. We end up just rambling and speaking gibberish :) Nicely done!
