Dear Prime Minister

Dear Prime Minister

A Poem by Kirsty Woodward

Prime Minister,

Can you hear?

Your smile is so sinister

But we do not fear!

How can you say,

“we’re all in this together”

When the poor are getting poorer

As you make the rich richer.

Prime Minister,

Are you listening?

How can you sleep at night?

Your compulsive lies & hypocrisy

Are an embarrassment to our country

& this is not democracy.

Prime Minister,

Enough is enough

Under your power

Our country, our home

Is in danger

& we do not support your agenda.

Prime Minister,

You can’t even look us in the eye

& tell us why.

Don’t you think its about time

You stepped down & resigned.

Methinks you are one unhappy member of our messy system! Your words truly do screw the life out of politics in this country and they're so finely laid. Meter's almost perfect, by the way. Brava!
