How Dare You, Girl

How Dare You, Girl

A Poem by Kirsty Woodward

they want you to bleed

they don’t want to see you doing well

how dare you wear your confidence

like a leather jacket

and walk with your head held high

how dare you need no validation from anyone

but yourself

because they’ll come for you

clawing

blood dripping from their lips

they’ll scream your name

but their tongue cant quite pronounce it.

For some strange reason this short but powerful poem made me think automatically about DJ Khaled.. lol its a good thing though... this is a very raw and beautiful poem Kristywood.

They say misery loves company. Many don't want to see us do well. Jealousy & hate can be powerful things. Good job.
