A Poem by Kirsty Woodward

it’s been a while since poetry has knocked on the door

since writing has taken me by the hand and told me it needs me.

we haven’t been there for each other recently

I’ve been busy and my energy is needed elsewhere

but my heart longs for the words on the page

it longs for the stroke of a pen

for the pain in the stomach only some poetry can inflict.

it’s Christmas here and my creativity is dampened

motivation is non existent

and the tan lines from summer are slowly fading.

It never knocks for me, it is I that has to do the calling. Loved the tan lines..

Thanks for stopping by, Gee.
great analogy with the tan lines fading...

and how you explain how the muse misses us just as we miss it...and the best way to get the words rolling again (at least for me) has been to write about not writing...and with the clever way you do here....your pen is moving again...getting out of its hibernation.

It's been a tough ride of writers block recently, Jacob. Thank you.
