politicians practice poetry

politicians practice poetry

A Poem by Kirsty Woodward

new music

new art

new books

new poems

new restaurants

new amusement parks

new one pound coins

new bank notes

Winston Churchill

new laws

Refined

new politicians

new Prime Minister

Unelected

new suits

new boots

the Bank of f*****g England

politicians and their priorities

I mean, nobody really knows.

the collapse of Big Ben

poor thing

new palaces

new holes in your socks

new bodies lining the streets

we have forgotten what democracy is really about

we have forgotten

we have forgotten

and the men in the shop doorways lie bleeding as we walk by.

lately i have been writing similarly...can't help but write political these days..it's our job to expose what is there and many don't even see...right in front of them.

i am inclined to love the last 4 lines of this...exceptional.
