Bleeding Stars

Bleeding Stars

A Poem by Kitchu

I’ve split my galaxy in half

and now I’m bleeding, I’m bleeding

stars and dreams and memories unending

on your behalf

I’ve clawed my eyes like comets out

but in my deepest dreams, you’re still around and about

what a ghost you are, harrowing and devout

for on this earth, you are gone without a doubt

I’ve drowned the frail heart

in the rivers of the Magellanic clouds

but it just won’t be torn apart

and all its beats I hear clearly, opulent sounds

and my mind, a nebula about to quench

strangled by the void around its edge

remnants of the primordial light

asymptotes that won’t reunite

Is this truly how it feels

to be mortal and sans divinity?

is this truly what it means

to lose your own infinity?
