Butterfly Weed

 

Ascelpias tuberose is the official name;
It’s quite difficult for me to say,
But you can just call it butterfly weed
It’s very beautiful either way.

Found all over North America mostly
In rock gardens, and roadsides
Butterflies flock to this lovely herb
For the thick nectar it provides.

Butterfly sanctuaries and gardens covered
With the hearty orange blossom too
To make special places to visit for
The likes of me and you!
