A Rainy Morning

A Rainy Morning

A Poem by Knightingale
"

A poem...

"
Rain patters against the glass
in the early hours
of this Wednesday morning;
clouds scatter and amass
over streets and towers
as the early light begins forming...

a crimson silhouette
bled through white curtains.
I'm certain this cigarette
with my morning coffee
has probably
done little to reset last night's regret
still softly
whispering
midnight sighs
from the bed I've left behind.

Where an unfamiliar face
serenely sleeps;
caramel skin against white sheets
rising as she breathes
dreaming of someone
someone other than me.
