An Unsolved Mystery

An Unsolved Mystery

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

This unfinished life
is falling apart in my fingers.
The glow
that springs from your heart
illuminates unnamed thoughts.

Pain is joyful,
suffering is an unsolved mystery.
Fear of love gives me wings.
I am high, above the city,
from where I have a great view
of the hatred in people's hearts.

Please don't turn your head
when I think of my hope,
which I have recently neglected.

Before I die, smile at me,
let your soul forget
about the body for a moment.

Something very sad here. Something precious is dying. Thoughts of what could have been lurk unspoken like ghosts hiding in the next room. Haunting!

This piece exudes a dark melancholic vibe that ends with such a profoundly wise last stanza. Those lines really had me shaking my head in agreement. Wonderful work.

You 'spoke' with understanding and I readily understood as well.
