In Your Perfect Heart

In Your Perfect Heart

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

Silence. Poisonous silence
overwhelming senses.
I am not afraid of the light,
love does not scare me.

My porcelain tongue, cracked in two,
refuses to obey.
There is no drop
of snow-white blood in us,
there is no fantasy in us
that allows us to live.

You know, the flaw that was a reminder
of our modern legend
does not hurt me anymore.

It is hard to understand a cry for help
when the world is on its knees,
when loneliness becomes overrated.

Dance for me one last time,
let me see the fire
in your perfect heart.
