The Gates of the Sun

The Gates of the Sun

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

Do not avoid your destiny,
do not avoid words
that don't mean anything.
Get rid of empty emotions,
learn to live with a smile
in your pocket.

You will rock a life
that nobody wants.
Lord, rise from your throne at last
and throw mortals
a piece of consumed heaven,
a piece of intact passion.

Clean up after your tears,
feed your hungry dreams.
You dance, even though the pain
prevents you from lifting
your feet off the floor.

I did not want to die on trial,
I didn't want to be born
under someone else's dictation.

Open the gates of the Sun to me,
open the love that has an expired name.
Never play a game
you can never win again.
