My Fallen Angel

My Fallen Angel

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

The last sun in your midnight sky
has gone out.
The last road
to Lucifer's single-family house
was lost.

My fallen angel, your salty light
will not go out
until the last man lives.
Now is the time to start
the puzzle all over again.
I think
the last element will be missing.

Before your shadow's wings bloom,
say goodbye
to the last shapeless melancholy
of this age.

It is not appropriate to continue
walking along the same road.
To reach the light, just turn left
and look down.
My heart doesn't have the strength
to keep beating.
Before you disinherit the last star,
think about how many tears
it will cost you.

When you swallow
your last tear, God will mention you
in his latest poem.
