Give Me Thoughts

Give Me Thoughts

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I'm afraid of your wronged hope
that God is in control of the world.
I'm running from your faith
in what never belonged to us.

I want to smell your fettered silence,
but I did not deserve your indifference,
a naive journey deep into
the suburban purgatory.

I got lost on my overpopulated island again.
I got on the train again,
which will derail against
the timetable.

Don't avoid my dreams,
give me thoughts I didn't deserve.
All I want today is the beastly hope
the emptiness of your arms
will never leave me.

Help me open the window
because the door has been locked
for several generations.
