The Door of Purgatory

The Door of Purgatory

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I lost the last rust star in this world,

a memento of too difficult adulthood.

I opened my eyelids wide

and I have a perfect view

of the newly built paradise from here.

I wanted to die without leaving

a single smile or a single lifeless memory.

Time caught up with my dreams,

eternity died a natural death.

I am leaving so that you can breathe

in peace, cultivate the flaws

in your thoughts.

Love has moved into the attic,

everyone is standing in line to see her.

Don't worry about your heart,

it's in good hands.

I will take care of your fear,

I will take care of your imaginary future.

I will stay here until you steal

my key to the door of Purgatory.
