My Cloudy Childhood

My Cloudy Childhood

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

A few words sold,
a bit of damn thought.
I forgot which memory belongs to you.
Nights are warm,
when random kisses and noisy hearts
fall from the sky.

Teach me to walk slowly,
without complaining about my
lost biography, my cloudy childhood.
Dreams of a better freedom
wander in the wilderness
of my soul, but God is watching us
through the keyhole.

I will draw you
the most beautiful rainbow,
color the gloomy stained glass window.
Your naivety made my
conscience ache.
Guilt doesn't apply to my future.

I have wanted to die many times,
but the flame in your dreams
scared away the painful shadows.
