Believe in Angels

Believe in Angels

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

Instead of stars, this night brings
silver coins woven of tears.
The gullible morning
has stolen the moonlight.

Don't pretend that the pain
is meant for the weakest.
You breed your most beloved fear,
you care for the trust
that has lost its way to hell.

We all need faith,
one more heartbeat to believe
in angels.
Dreams do not allow us
to forget that apple trees
will not bloom for us this year,
and the Sun will burst
like a soap bubble.

My senses are confused,
I do not remember which ones
belong to you.

A land has become full of fears as footsteps echo as they pass through in the night of their existence.

I wonder the opinions that fly as the fleeing deal as only they can at the misery and death? What place have they and we as literally millions add to the existing infrastructure and societal support structures? A country's poor becomes poorer still even as less and less is available each day the migration continues. Eating IS a hard habit to break and shivering in the cold is universal...

It is sad how people that haven't lost - everything - get to the point that they FEEL they are losing their own everything as misery and frustration over their ability to not do something begins to impact upon their own lives.
