Between Heaven and Hell

Between Heaven and Hell

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

Do not let your dreams
deprive you of reckless freedom,
a timid love that lacks remorse.
When you lose
another iconoclastic game,
when your body asks for caress,
faith will stand guard,
pain will forget where it came from.

Instead of praying to God,
look for a dream
that will give you a breeze
of light from the stolen lighthouse.

The same night is burning
in your heart again,
the same premature kiss
that will not reach the silence,
that will cross the line
between heaven and hell.
