A Few War Orders

A Few War Orders

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I wander among misspelled thoughts.
I miss a body
that I can acquaint with solitude.
I'd like to see your silence,
but the words are too far away
to see.

We are left with a few war orders
and a prayer without an addressee.
Before my light-loving shadow
catches me, gather for me a basket
of fresh stars, still green and slightly acidic
constellations.

I swim against the tide of the world,
I order my dreams to line up
for dry bread.

Excuse me. Which road should I take
to get to nearby hell?
The smell of your tears
reminds me of the end of my childhood.

The warmth of your tears
soothes the insane.
Wake up before it's too late
to fall asleep.

Beautifully written. I feel that it's written from the perspective of an army personnel in a war zone. Wars are never good for any side. They destruct every good ever done!
