Porcelain Veins

Porcelain Veins

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

I dirty my soul with the hope
of the day before yesterday.
I don't know the pain
worth defending against.

You broke down the door
to my heaven again,
you went back to hell
in a roundabout way.

You searched for tears to satisfy
your hunger, but met only
a scarlet silence,
dreams from adulthood.
I don't know which of these tears
has become a memento
of dreams, a memory
of the summer
that nobody here misses anymore.

My heart is cold, my blood freezes
in porcelain veins.
Teach me to speak the language
of angels, show me life
from a perspective
that I do not know yet.

Another star goes out
in your words, the naked night
does not bring a resurrection.
A new thought stuck in my head,
the sun bloomed
in the raspberry sky.
