In Your Sleep

In Your Sleep

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

You're smiling at me

in your sleep again.

You bring me the brightest star

again.

You give me a crystal sky

as a memento of lost thoughts.

The world in your head

is more beautiful than the one

God feeds his adopted children

with.

The tide is approaching,

bringing too scarlet heart,

too chapped soul.

Love flows with the flow of blood,

it squeezes through the gaps

in the void.

Before you promise me

your parable, think about

whether you still want to be

alone.

The abandoned body is bursting,

haunted by the pain whose red flower

blooms in the wombs

of your hands.

Don't make me lie

when it's not worth waking up.
