Tomorrow's Indifference

Tomorrow's Indifference

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

The night, chained by stars

to the fawn horizon,

craves a little shade.

Words, hard to find, fill you

with useless light,

the rotten meat of a soul.

Betraying tainted memories,

I find you, all glass,

all cold breath.

Another tear is frozen on

your conscience.

Don't dance if the dance floor

doesn't obey you.

Tomorrow's indifference

does not match the color

of your eyes.

I love your stars, I love

your sense of existence.

Your whispers, divided in half,

are similar to the cry

of a deaf-mute.

You are a blind person

who is afraid of your own

darkness.

I met your pain again,

it reminded me of you

in love with the past.

What would you do if all the stars

suddenly fell into

a nearby puddle?

Before I die, give me a wreath

of white roses.

I avoid your heaven,

I avoid the earth.

Don't come while love remains

in us.

Light does not allow the heart

to beat freely.

Your loneliness is a promise

to forbidden dreams.

Don't touch my words,

don't die until I return.
