Your Green Body

Your Green Body

A Poem by Katarzyna Anna Koziorowska

All visible stars are gone,
a few remorse remain,
the desolate time immersed in
your green body.

Frozen thoughts have escaped
from the well, and the memory
that you do not dare to cherish
is peeking out from behind
the mirror.

In love with footprints
on my soul, engulfed by
supposed silence, I am playing
in life that this time
will not escape our loneliness.

Do not run away until hope
is happy with your tears, as long as
fear is a memento of
the sweet-and-sour present.

My hands, tucked in the touch
of your soft skin, do not like
the vagrants here.
Pick up a despairing word, take care
of the future, which is impossible
to find among the local
black and white meadows.

Let indifference become
love I will give to my best enemy.
