Cold Caress

Cold Caress

A Poem by Kristan A. Mohammed

She is a journey,

Without a destination.

Internal malady,

Of silent self-destruction.

Tell her you love her,

Then lie and burn to waste.

Give her a reason to believe,

Just a little taste.

She is the ice that breaks under your feet,

Your fantasy she lives to please.

The tale that lurks in bondage underneath,

She is your vital remedy.

Tell her you love her,

In hopes that she might fall.

Give her a reason,

To fall for it all.

A call to the fires,

To fall and burn the ice.

Hearts remained broken,

Can’t heal more than thrice.

Snow White comes with frostbite,

She will break your heart.

Beauty comes in blind sight,

She planned it from the start.

Offering her shoulders,

For you to shed your tears.

Her shoulder is so cold,

You’ll get icicles on your ears.

She’s frozen,

She threw the dice so you’d get hurt.

She broke you,

But what was it all worth?

And she’s alone now.

Very powerful and moving write Kristan. You've probably heard it said that hurting people hurt people. It is true and your poem states that clearly. Bravo. ~Sharon

Wow very deep, and quite moving i may say.
Just because someone gets hurt many times, doesn't give them the right to hurt others.
Hearts are not very strong things, they should never be played with.
Great piece, I enjoyed reading it.
The rhyming was also brilliant :)

"A call to the fires,
To fall and burn the ice.
Hearts remained broken,
Can’t heal more than thrice." - Loved the first three lines of this stanza but I would have liked to see a futher stanza about the thrice broken 'theory' - it would expand this so much rather than leave the reader with the questions - why three ? Is it just an arbitrary choice of number?

"She broke you,
But what was it all worth?" - the whole poem centres around this - What is the point of turning yourself into another of the worlds b*****ds just to get a moment of sadistic pleasure.

The final line says it all -
superb Kristan

Thank you. Glad u liked it.
It happens so often, as a defence mechanism. But it only winds up hurting people more.
So sad.
