Existential TrustA Poem by Kaleidoscope Apocalypse
And though I know you're near, I fear the quiet of the night The silence drowns me and I am lost A moment passes 'fore your touch assures me I am not alone A feverish pitch in my voice alerts you not all is well When you ask I'll simply say it was the chill A pity that you would not understand if I were to tell These words are dying in my throat A breath away from spilling o'er my lips I only wish that in time you'll come to know How deep in the shadows of the night I hide from what I do not know I seek your protection but am afraid to ask You hold me close and I allow your kiss Someday I hope to relish in this, your act of love For now it only keeps me safe, from the darkness, from the shame And though I know you mean well, I fear the act of pushing away.
