~ ash

A Poem by poddar kushal

Ash
The face of fall is ash.
Feverish leaves saunter
here and there, to and fro.
Like a bright cobweb caught
in sun, a few lovers
twinkle on lonely benches.

Apart from these colors
the face of fall is ash.
The coiled desires
are static in their
own unfulfillment. Sleep.
Every street is dead part,
sleepy absolution
of ash, burnt, dead Pompeii© 2008 - All Rights Reserved Kushal Poddar

Sorry it took me so long to review this. I actually had the priviledge to see Pompeii, and you captured it nicely. Nicely written. A great write!

"sleepy absolution
of ash, burnt, dead"
Wow! This is great, the description is so vivid and imagery in it has been so beautifully drawn that it really goes so well with the entire sense of winter, Great work as always!

ash fall is soon
to be covered
in blanket of white

da white warms
da ground from temperatures
below freezing

temperatures drop
but not noticed below
cause of the warming blanket

to be cozy in the freezing warmth
as the temperatures drop
into the subfreezing crystals

Beautiully written. Personally, I think many of your words perfectly describe winter. The grey ash landscape, the season of sleep, the lonely beachs, and dead streets. Your words are always so descriptive. Great piece. Rain..

Wow!!!
I like the way you describe the typical athmosphere of autumn, not using the actual colours but what makes them stand out, their characteristics so to speak. This poem is highly creative and a gem to read.
You are right: at this time the world is turning ash grey, slowly darkening as to gradually prepare us for winter!
Thanks for sending this to me!
