Why I'm Atheist, Chapter 3

In this chapter, I tackle the Christian afterlife!

You know, I recently spoke with a Christian girl about heaven and hell, so this is a summary of that conversation:

So I asked her what heaven is, and in response, she said that heaven is eternal bliss. I asked her what her definition of bliss was, in response, she said that in heaven, you worship god and spend eternity with everyone else in heaven, being happy. So I asked her if, in heaven, you feel pity for those in hell, she said 'no, you just worship the lord.

So, being an atheist, I took this conversation to my advantage to throw it back in Christians' faces:

If all you do in heaven is become a mindless drone who follows god without question after death, I would sure as hell rather be in hell. Because apparently, in hell you spend eternity as the devil's slave, working in fire. So, I would much rather spend time as a slave in hell because slaves have free thought, they may not be able to act upon those thoughts, but they definitely can have free thought.

So, you make your own decision:

Being a slave with free thought: Hell

OR

Being a mindless drone who worships one autocratic universal dictator: Heaven

You have your options, take a pick.
