Just A Season

Just A Season

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

I know I am but one season to your heart

But I have loved you long and well

Even though all the seasons I do not dwell

And pray…

What does this signify?

That I want you -  and you not I?

Just what lips your lips have kissed?

I ask, but you don't reply

I turn my head so I won’t cry

Where your loves have come and gone

In your arms how many have lain

The ghosts of all- who still remain?

For in my heart there stirs a yearning

A part of me can sing no longer

For fear of others you grow fonder

For a while I shall remain

But love will soon vanish -  one by one

Then...

One day - you’ll find - that I too have gone

~~~
