Fireflies ~ Painted Splendor

Fireflies ~ Painted Splendor

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne
"

Little things can be soooo beautiful

"

With sagacious vision

I watch from afar

The night air burning with your brilliant glow

Once I tried to capture you in my tiny jar

But I just couldn’t keep you

I just had to let you go

I close my eyes and see your light

As you flit and fly

In magnificent flight

Your tiny specks twinkling

Free from the bonds of earthly slumber

Glow filmy wings as you soar in flight

One by one in splendid number

Painting in darkness

Dancing in moonlight

Like pixies and faeries in magical dreams

Weaving us your endearing schemes

This feels like a metaphor about coming of age and when we have to let go of innocence and face the real world. A lovely poem and so nice to see you writing again.
