The Hurdy Gurdy Man

The Hurdy Gurdy Man

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

I leave behind the uncaring

those who falsify sensuous nothingness

wondering at their emptiness

Is it just easier not to care?

In the background a makeup song is playing

Does the pettiness never end...

where Heaven is accused

and people fighting like crazy?

All the roadside hostility

People putting on their heartless masks

amidst all the flavors of discontent

like failed lovers

waiting in dirty corners

From the depths of love…

to the remoteness of dark shadows

Enduring the casualties of yesterday

trying to fill in the blanks

of the unthinkable injustice of it all

We listen to the news…

and the apathy of the crises

The Government and all their lies

living with untamable infinity...

as the world grows phonier by the hour

We need honesty

We need integrity

We need CHANGE!
