A Selfish Man's Burden

A Selfish Man's Burden

A Poem by anne p. murray- LadeeAnne

His face…

like a weather condition with physical properties

 weathered furrowed, wrinkled forehead

 with wind-swept, blustering eyebrows

over piercing, menacing eyes of a hurricane prophecy

He had...

an evil look- that seemed to stare right into your soul

His life threw him down an evil, selfish path

an old man now, so mean and cruel

out for vengeance, out for wrath

fierce of heart with bitter breath

With his...

 selfish, spiteful, sinful ways

he drove everyone away who tried to love him

He gave no love back, had no nice words to say

sadly, when he dies- it's likely no one will really care

But he...

 brought this all upon himself

He gave no one else love or joy

But, he’s to blame- no one else

Yet somehow…

he thinks peace will come with death?
