Empty Baths

Empty Baths

A Poem by Laura Kate

I cried for you

so much

that I drained myself dry.

no energy left to close the plug

I watch the remnants

of myself

disappear

down

the

drain.

Cold

empty bath

skin not letting go

of the empty

soul

this makes me hug hungry... i'm a hugger my nickname was the bear cause when I was little i hugged so hard
the transposition of your intent was so plainly penned it instantaneously registered in my heart but i can tell from here that's no empty soul that wrote these lines! Like miss Margie just said I don't see this as dreary I feel it as freeing:) besides it's a good thing to exfoliate the bad clings from your skin it opens things up for fresh growth:)

Thank you for reading JungLee :)
Good stuff. Love the format of the poem. It's dynamic visual verse for sure. All emotion is going down, down, down. Its letting go lyrically and that is never bad.

At first glance, this may seem like a dreary situation, but I read your poem as more of a celebration. When a person spends so much time crying, maybe it's good for that old identity to go down the drain. Sure it hurts for a while as our longing holds on. Your msg is a raw well-crafted capsule realizing how hard to face when a situation is NOT working! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
