You Stayed

You Stayed

A Poem by Laura Harrison

I used to be a train wreck;

A sad and bitter mess of a girl

And all I ever wanted was for someone to guide me through the depression

To warm up my heart and fix the cracks in my soul

But all my relationships proved to be a failure like me;

I was just a project- something for boys to attempt to fix and then get bored of when they realized that nothing would work.

But then I met you- and you had the patience of an angel

You never got annoyed when I cried and said that I wasn’t good enough for you

And you told me that you loved me every time I told you I didn’t

And with every kiss and gentle touch, I felt my heart get a little bit warmer…

All of my past lovers ran away, but you saw something beautiful in me and decided to stay.

We need to appreciate the good friends and family that stay with us in the good and the bad times. I like the flow of thoughts leading to the strong ending. Real love accept us in the good or bad days. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

this is very very romantic, is this about you or just made up, I can kind of relate to this in ways, every guy i liked kept being so wrong for me, kept breaking me, then mark came along haha.
I like the whole meaning to this peace, and the romance in it.
Well written

Such a sweet story in this poem. I hope it all continues to move in that direction. I have a tend to ruin everything, so I totally relate to this poem. People who stay around are good people.
Nice job
