Nothing Dies

Nothing Dies

A Poem by Laura Harrison

At this time of year, nature is dead.

The trees have parted with their leaves

and the flowers no longer bloom;

then along comes spring,

restoring all beauty and life to the world.

Even people who have long since been buried in the ground,

stay alive in their loved ones hearts.

So don’t hide yourself away in your room

and act like you’re dying

because I can still see a lot of life in you.

Yes, you are hurting

and it seems like the end of the world as you know it;

you feel as though the depression is sucking the air out of your lungs.

But I can still see that sparkle in your eyes;

I can still feel your heart pumping when you lay your head on my chest.

So next time you feel as though there is no life left inside of you,

look outside at the withered trees

and the wilting plants

and remind yourself that nothing ever dies.

Not really.

this is a great meaningful write laura.
it shows exactly how much hope there is in life by reading this poem.
its so meaningful and such a beautiful piece.
I especially loved this part

"So next time you feel as though there is no life left inside of you,
look outside at the withered trees
and the wilting plants
and remind yourself that nothing ever dies.
Not really."

This part is exactly how people should remind themselves about there life when its low, and it will bring them right back up again.
Its a great inspiring piece, well done :)

Beautiful, inspiring and meaningful piece Laura :)
Another poem with words filled with hope and inspiration.
As poetic heroics has just said, not only himself, but others can look back to this piece, when having a bad day :)
Well written :)
