Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding

A Poem by Lauriegirl

This is the warmth that shares,
The fatigue
That does not doubt its purpose.
Long after midnight,
Hope is a thin thread of light,
A promise of sleep
Somewhere beyond these anxieties.
There will be easier nights.
Tonight we know
That milk is made from blood.

This piece of poetry is soft and lovely. I like the compact, uniform look of the lines on the page. The rhythm is smooth, the tone very gentle and the message is clear
