The Waves of Mist

The Waves of Mist

A Poem by Daniel Fletcher
"

An environmental malaise, a singular beacon of hope. I took this Shakespearian poem from the beginning of a modern music video... like you do.

"

  The waves of mist coast on frost-laden breeze

Denying warmth from evening’s forest maze,

Uneven broken trunks all loom in frieze

With hulking outlines, each one wet with haze.

But sweeping fog and earth of icy chill

Can never reach two hearts’ unbounded hope

For steeped in firelight, warmed with naught but will

A house shines bright with peace, from walls of taupe.

Defying gently every wild fear;

A beacon filled with happiness of life

To wife and husband, shadows won’t appear;

For with a laugh, they shatter fear and strife.
