The Allure of the Sea

The Allure of the Sea

A Poem by Leigh

Everyday I go into the sea

I can’t help it, it's calling me

Winking its eye with glistening light

I find I’m racing for the shore every night

Under moonstruck waves and frothy foam

All at once I am so alone

No one in the world can get near me

When I am swimming in the beautiful sea

For hours and hours I will stay in there

like a frolicking whale without a care

It cools my body from head to toe

Cleaning and healing, to and fro

On the horizon is the death of a star

Crimson and Orange, just a long Purple scar

And sadly now with my feet on dry land

I feel again a compulsion I cannot understand

Organizing oneself to say exactly what you want to is a great privilege. It comunicates to the world the growing orderliness of one's mind. Even if that means being alone in the ocean, one is still communicating, especially if it may involve an old issue.... when Acteon couldn't differentiate acting from living. Nice write!

Ah yes, the primal call of the sea...you've captured it well...
