Blind Lust Thought Syndrome

Blind Lust Thought Syndrome

A Poem by Leo Allen

Occupying my mind every waking and sleeping

Second of every single day or night

It seems almost selfish you chose to walk into my life

without my consent

And stood me up where I once sat.

I never knew I needed you until you showed me

What I was missing

Like a seemingly satisfied dog who sees in black and white,

completely unaware of color.

There are days when I feel alone and lost

But only for a second because I know

That you’ll be there

Without me owing you anything in return.

And what I believe I love most about us

Is our longing for each other’s company

And our innocent lust that only grows

Day by night.
