You'll Be Around

You'll Be Around

A Poem by Leo Allen

I’ve seen you around these days.

I’ve seen you here in my room, laying on my bed, pinching your hair between your fingers as you stare at the ceiling.

I’ve seen you in the kitchen, sitting on the counter with a cup of coffee warming your hands. I’ve seen you at the park, steadily rocking yourself on the swing.

I’ve seen you walking down the street, admiring the world around you.

I’ve seen you in my dreams, as a person you no longer are.

I’ve seen you within my head, as a memory of someone who is no longer mine.
